Movie answers

I’d almost forgotten about my obscure movie quotes! Here are the quotes with the movies they come from:
(Extra Credit:) “You ought to be on TV with all those accents.” (Die Hard)

1. “What’s a little boy like you doing with big boy smut like this?” (Better Off Dead)
2. “Looks like you’ve been missing a lot of work lately.” “I wouldn’t say I’ve been *missing* it, Bob.” (“Office Space”, Thanks, Jennifer!)
3. “They’re lame. Real Crippled.” (The Warriors)
4. “I don’t appreciate your ruse, ma’am.” (Clerks)
5. “Wow, you’re really complicated.” “I try not to be.” (Bottle Rocket)
6. “I spent eight million dollars on this.” “And that’s all you’re willing to spend?” (Rushmore)
7. “Suppose he’s got a pointed stick?” “Shut Up!” (And Now For Something Completely Different)
8. “Do it Doug!” (Mallrats)
9. “Good goin’, stranger!” (Desperately Seeking Susan)
10. “The universe actually sucks in light. I still don’t understand.” (Making Mr. Right)

Speaking of which, I saw a pretty great movie today, “Drillbit Taylor”. It’s another Judd Apatow work (I loved The 40 Year Old Virgin and Superbad, hated Knocked Up), and was slightly similar to Superbad, but not quite as funny. It did pick up after the first quarter, though, and I really enjoyed it. My favorite part was when they brought in Adam Baldwin (star of “My Bodyguard”) to say that they were stupid for hiring a bodyguard to protect them at school – hilarious since that’s exactly what his character was hired to do in the 1980 film! (I loved that film, BTW, and am a huge Chris Makepeace fan.)

Oh, and the psycho villain in this movie looked ***exactly*** like John Cusack.  I was and am a huge John Cusack fan and it was kind of weird to see “Lane” or one of his other beloved characters being quite so crazy.  But it did remind me of high school. I will definitely be looking for this gorgeous actor in other movies!

Clapotis modified

Well, I may be stalled on two Clapotis, but I’ve completed one! Well, a Clapotis modification at least. It does tie around my neck, and measures 20″ x 24″. Presenting, the Clapotis Neckerchief:

Materials:

2 skeins Debbie Bliss Pure Silk

Size 7 U.S. needles

17 stitch markers

tapestry needle

Directions:

Follow Knitty’s Clapotis pattern until you have completed enough increase sections to have 18 sections on your needles.

On the next right side row, K to one stitch before first marker, K1tbl, PM, and complete the following after every marker until the last: drop the first stitch after the marker, let it drop a few rows, and pick up the stitch below as in the original pattern, knitting this stitch and the following through the back loop, K3, k1tbl, PM

At the last marker: PM, K1, k1tbl, K to end

For the next two rows continue the appropriate line in the Clapotis increase section (i.e. P1, K3, ktbl (K, Ktbl, K3, Ktbl, PM) , repeat () to last marker, K1tbl, K to end; K1, P to end)

For the next row, complete the row in K1, P1 rib.

Cast off in K1, P1 rib.

Finish any stitch dropping that wasn’t completed during the pattern, weave in ends, and block as desired.

Another movie meme

This was up on Wendee’s blog by way of Jennifer’s blog and it sounded fun. I love quotes! Just for fun, here’s a quote that I’ve always enjoyed, but I wouldn’t put in my top 10:

“You ought to be on TV with all those accents.”

1. Pick 10 of your favorite movies.
2. Go to IMDb and find a quote from each movie.
3. Post them here for everyone to guess.
4. Strike it out when someone guesses correctly, and put who guessed it and the movie.
5. Looking them up is cheating, please don’t.

So here goes…

1. “What’s a little boy like you doing with big boy smut like this?”
2. “Looks like you’ve been missing a lot of work lately.” “I wouldn’t say I’ve been *missing* it, Bob.” (“Office Space”, Thanks, Jennifer!)
3. “They’re lame. Real Crippled.”
4. “I don’t appreciate your ruse, ma’am.”
5. “Wow, you’re really complicated.” “I try not to be.”
6. “I spent eight million dollars on this.” “And that’s all you’re willing to spend?”
7. “Suppose he’s got a pointed stick?” “Shut Up!”
8. “Do it Doug!”
9. “Good goin’, stranger!”
10. “The universe actually sucks in light. I still don’t understand.”
Any guesses? I’d love to send a stitch marker prize to the person that gets the most, as I’ve been making too many stitch markers for even all my projects lately!

Help! (Advice, please.)

So since I am at a standstill on my Clapotis Two (in Tahki New Tweed), I picked up my first Clapotis, and have been knitting away. Here is my issue. I have two skeins of Debbie Bliss Pure Silk, which will of course make a very small Clapotis. I have knit up one skein, and therefore halfway done. Here’s my question. Do you think I should continue as I am and make a small triangular scarf, or start the decrease rows and make a small rectangular scarf? I’m not sure either way!
