I hear there’ll be time to sleep when we die. So is it so wrong of me that even though I am seriously sleep deprived and clinically depressed, I want to stay up just to finish my OSW? I picked up many stitches and am working on the one inch of ribbing, so I should be done tomorrow. It looks great with the Noro Silk Garden and black Rowan Cork border/sleeves, and once I try it on I’ll get some photos. I really hope the sleeves fit since I spent so much time on them. Hopefully we’ll find out tomorrow.

After I finish my OSW I’m not sure where I’ll go next. I have my A Good Bias, IM’s blanket and my dad’s tie on the needles, but I would also like to start using up some of this mid-range (90 skeins) stash I’m amassing. I always find lots of good patterns to try but then blank when I can start something because there are so many things to do I can’t choose.

Not to mention I’m busy working and knitting, but I still have time to buy a Boye Needlemaster on Ebay (I really do hate that company. Yet there are so many deals!)

112009849042547494 Yet I did get some work on my OSW done today. After all, since I’m a full-time mom I have to spend at least 3 hours a day at the park. And one of my “friends” (I also like to think of them as “coworkers”.) was asking when I would get my nap when I left. It was quite condescending and annoying. Sure, she only has one kid and he’s 5 so she doesn’t know what it’s like to deal with three by yourself (see ea_spouse for more information, not that I am badmouthing any particular company, most software companies are similar in my experience) but she didn’t need to be obnoxious.

Anyway, my boss is out of town so I have been slacking on my work but now it’s due and of course my mom’s in charge of her company now so I have work with them. At least my own real estate classes are done. Now all I have to do with that is apply for the licensing exam, take the exam, pay the fees, start a corporation, etc., etc.)

All of this being partially because I have been too busy knitting to work! Last night I brought out IM’s blanket and today I finished the second sleeve of my OSW and am busy picking up the stitches for my border, then I’ll be done. I’m thinking, though, that I’d rather do some finishing than have to pick up so many stitches, but oh well.

Okay I give up. I may have to go back into ponchos considering I’m not that comfortable wearing them. I am going back on what I said about the new IK staff project and just may have to make the mini-poncho and hip-to-be square poncho. Now if I can just find a kid to wear them so they actually look fashionable. (I base my fashion sense on what I see at school and I haven’t seen any students wearing ponchos which tells me they are “so last week”.)

Knitpicks is just killing me! Like I really need any more knitting books, but I just got their catalog in the mail and found at least 2 more books I want to buy! Then I get their email and they have added patterns — of course the pattern I have to make, The Virginia Tank. I bought some Crystal Palace Summer Net recently and I think I have enough for a tank, so I have been looking for a great pattern, and I think this is it! Of course it is not available online so I need to buy enough to make up $30 for free shipping, even though it is suggested that you make it in Shimmer yarn, and I already have some at home for my shawl from A Gathering of Lace. That’s how they get you!

I am too fat. I finished my popcorn shrug and even though I think the coloring looks great and it’s an interesting look, it looks horrible on me. I’m not sure what I’m going to do with it. If I wore it as a really short scarf (especially if I lived in a cold climate, which I don’t anymore) it would look cute, but as a shrug I’m not so sure. But at least I have my first wearable FO!

It is just physically impossible for me to finish anything quickly. And I have been knitting every chance I can! (Well, I did spend all Tuesday unravelling knotted yarn.) So here’s my dilemma: I am 2/3 of the way done with my shrug and after a day of dyeing 3 more skeins of yarn (and being asked “what happened to your hands?”), I have 3 skeins that don’t really match the original. Help! What am I going to do with a 2/3 done project (that skein looked so large that it would finish the project on its own) and some more yarn that doesn’t match?

I thought I was done with Kool-Aid dyeing yesterday when I bought (twice!) the _clear_ Kool-Aid (now they try to get all healthy on me?!) and the green which is so light it didn’t even register on my yarn. But now I’m excited to try a blue/purple mixture.

I’m famous! Well, sort of. I got my latest issue of Knitter’s Review and my innocent stash question started off the latest poll question! I am so honored!
