Dress You Up

So I had my baby birthday party today. I didn’t finish the baby beret I was working on (I’m barely out of the ribbing stage), but I did give her the scarf along with an outfit that matched (that I didn’t make). My friend (the mom) is really good at gushing, in a good way, when the presents were opened. She said loudly, “She _made_ this!”

Last week I had told my playgroup that I was starting a knitting club through our local mother’s group, and most of them were uninterested. One of them actually said that she wanted to learn but didn’t know where to start or something like that. I guess she doesn’t really want to learn if she can’t be bothered to try to learn. It isn’t that hard to get started. This mom from today said that she wasn’t into making things or wasn’t good at it or something. But when she got her baby gift she also said “Now I want to join your knitting group!”

It was an eventful creation, even if I was just trying to get rid of some yarn!

Accessorizing

I am hard at work at my first pattern. It is a variation of the checkerboard pattern I found in “The Complete Idiot’s Guide to Knitting and Crocheting”. I will post a photo if I can when I finish, which should be tonight since I have to start my baby beret. I hope to finish both by Sunday (3 days) when I am going to a 1st birthday party for “the baby that has everything”.
